Note: Some of these breeds listed here are Dragon Cave dragons, since the original RP came from the Dragon Cave forums and we've played as those adoptable breeds. Breeds between astericks (*) are the DC dragons. Also, this is an incomplete list. That means you can be any breed of dragon you want, even if it's not on the list. Any breed introduced in the RP that's not on the list will be put on the list later.
Barrier Dragons
Dragons with the ability to create barriers around themselves and their allies. Their barriers can deflect all magic spells and protects against some physical attacks. But with enough strong physical hits to the barrier, then it will soon crack before breaking completely. Barrier dragons are found in North Central Rudvich and are an uncommon breed. They are herbivores and eat any type of plant they see except for poisonous ones.
Bird Wyverns
Also known as Bird dragons. They are one of the fastest fliers of the dragon breeds, alongside the Skywings and Swallowtails. Hence the name, the Bird Wyverns resemble your average bird in appearance like having feathers everywhere on the body, talons, and a hooked beak (when adult)/ robin-like beak (when hatchling). The only draconic parts about them are the sharp teeth inside their beak, pointy dragons spines running from the back of their neck to the end of their tail, reptilian eyes, and some of them can breathe fire (depending of what their ancestors were). Bird wyverns come in various colors like blue, red, green, white, etc. and they all live in the North-central and North-western regions of Rudvich. They are omnivorous and eat fish, insects, worms, rabbits, mice, squirrels, deer, berries, fruits, and sometimes vegetables.
*Black Dragons*
Black Dragons are specialized fighters with great combat skills and magic powers; though their magic isn't as advanced as the Magi Dragons'. They are nocturnal carnivores with excellent night vision that allows them to see in the most darkest places and hunt their prey during late evenings and after midnight. Their dark scales also provide them cover in the dark to hide from their unaware victims. Black Dragons are an uncommon breed that are found in all countries of Rudvich except the Southern Central and Southeastern regions.
Brute Dragons
Large two-legged dragons that stand to an average height of 35 feet tall. They are an aggressive breed with super strength that can allow them to deal heavy damage and even break a Guardian Dragon's shield tail. When trying to get a potential mate, Brute Dragons will challenge any rival they come across and fight them in a brutal manner until the rival dies or gives up. Brute Dragons are carnivores and will eat any animal they find and depending on their prey's size, they'll either eat a lot or a few. Brute Dragons are native in Solomos.
Copper Dragons
Grand Copper Dragons: A breed that's part of the rare metallic family. Grand Copper dragons have metallic scales that are tough and durable, enabling them to endure heavy hits. These rare carnivorous dragons are found only in Southwest Rudvich. They normally prefer living in deserts and lands with open spaces as they detest forests and mountains, but there are some who don't mind hanging out in dense places.
Copper Wyverns: Rare metallic wyverns that live in Gwenyan savannahs. Their scales are just like those of their western dragon cousins and they are carnivorous.
Digger Dragons
Underground dragons who use their claws to dig even through the toughest of soil. They are omnivores who eat tree roots, rabbits and other underground animals. Their sticky tongues also enables them to catch insects and eat them. They are common in Dominina's forests.
Dracorex
Biped dragons that stand on two legs and have opposable thumbs. No, they are not hybrids, because they weren't created in the lab.
Gnome Pygmies
*Guardian Dragons*
Found only in Rudvich, most particulary the Northcentral and Northeast regions. They have large shields at the end of their tails that often seems to look heavy, but are actually light. Their tail shields and shield wings can be used to deflect any attack and are immune to magic. Hunters, when confronting guardian dragons, must always go for the blue parts of their bodies to deal damage to them. If these dragons are proving difficult to kill, then use poison, sleeping, or paralyzing gas to weaken them or use a special kind of metal-melting acid to melt their shields. Guardian dragons will often spend most of their time guarding their eggs and hatchlings. They have no need to forge or hunt as they are often fed by those they protect. They are generally peaceful and will not retaliate unless necessary, which makes them easier to be befriended by humans. They are omnivores, which means they can eat both plants and meat.
Half breeds
Half breeds are a combination of two dragon species, not necessarily their best traits. Every trait they inherit seems to affect their abilities in positive and negative ways, more often negative. Other dragon specie tend to alienate these dragons due to the fact they are what they are, but not always. It normally depends on the dragon’s views on tradition.
*Ice Dragons*
These dragons are masters of snow and ice. They only live naturally in the frigid north and south, and are quite rare. Ice dragons have the ability to control ice, snow and cold air around them, or even freeze water into spears of ice that can be hurled at the enemy. Instead of being warm-blooded, they are literally cold-blooded. Their bod temperature is so cold that icicles will form on an Ice Dragons scales no matter what the temperature around them. They a formidable hunters, freezing their prey solid with their icy breath, or impaling them with spears of ice. They are a light blue color, and have large, leathery wings. Their tails is long, aiding in flight, and ends with a ice-blue frill used as a rudder. They also have long spikes on their head and neck used to intimidate a foe or attract a mate.
*Magi Dragons*
Pure-blood Magis: Pure-blood Magi dragons are, by far, the most able and powerful magic users. They rarely use any form of physical attacks, preferring to destroy their foes using a variety of spells. They have a wide diet, eating nearly everything they can catch, which is generally everything. They won't usually attacked humans, but will kill them if they feel threatened or in danger. They are a size of 20 feet tall and stand just taller then a one-story house. They are a bright orange, and have distinctive, shimmering blue eyes. They also have large frills on their heads and tails, which some say are the source of a Magi's magic. This, however, is a rumor, and cutting off a Magi dragon's frills will do nothing to the dragon's magic ability. Ever since the deadly war against the now extinct witch dragons thousands of years ago, pure-blood Magis are extremely hard to find as they are very few in numbers and have grudgingly mated with other breeds of dragons to keep their lineages clean of inbreedness, which lead to the birth of the mixed-breed common Magis. Purebloods are only found in the central regions of Solomos, where they have used their illusionary magic to hide themselves from humans at all times.
Common Magis: Like their ancestors, the purebloods, common Magis are really able magic users. But due to their mixed heritages, they tend to vary in what kinds of magics they can do and may not do everything a pureblood can do. Their colors, powers, and behavior also depend on their non-magi parents/ancestors. Some of them are carnivores and some of them are omnivores.
Winter Magis:
*Magma Dragons*
Rudvichan Magma Dragons: Unlike their Solomese counsins, the Rudvichan Magma Dragons have wings to fly with. But on the downside, they're a bit physically weaker and their lava rock armor are a bit softer. Because their magma-like bodies can withstand any kind of intense heat, they live inside volcanos, where they swim in the lava. These carnivorous dragons can leave the lava fields to hunt, but surprisingly, they require very little amount to eat. Ridvichan Magma dragons are part of the Legendary Trio, along with Ice dragons and Thunder dragons, and have the ability to summon the Guardian of Nature, but only if they have help from the Ice and Thunder dragons to do so.
Solomese Magma Dragons: Heavy wingless dragons with tougher magma rocks on their body than those of their Rudvichan cousins; they are also slightly bigger than them. They live inside volcanoes for most of their lifetime and rarily come out to hunt and feast on my prey. They are of the Legendary Trio family and have the power to summon the Guardian of Nature, when there are Ice and Thunder dragons around.
*Moonstone Dragons*
Moonstone dragons are named after a large, blue stone on their tails used to absorb moonlight. They are generally a gentle breed, although some have been known to be aggressive, mostly towards Sunstone dragons. Unlike Sunstone dragons, they are normally solitary dragons, but small bands of females have been reported. They are herbivorous, eating only plants supplemented by moonlight. They glow with the light of the moon, especially when the moon is full at night. They have large feathery wings and long tails tipped with glowing blue stones. They come in varying shades of blue, the males being darker then the females.
*Pygmy dragons*
While having long life spans and growing to be the size of a small average dragon; they take an alarming amount of time to reach adulthood. Normally with their mother for the first 10 years, it is unknown how long it takes for the dragons to mature. They are known as pygmies because it wasn’t known until recently that they grew past a very small size, often mistaken for smaller woodland animals.
*Red Dragons*
One of the most common type of fire-element dragons in Solomos that can be found in deserts, volcanic regions, and coastlines. These crimson dragons have the most advanced fire breath of all the firebreathing dragon breeds, as they have the ability to charge up energy to power their firebreaths from orange to blue and finally to white, which is the hottest fire of all. Their warm bodies make them quite resistant to heat and them to make the eggs they incubate to hatch earlier. They are carnivorous by nature and eat only meat.
*Sunstone Dragons*
Unlike their cousins, Moonstone dragons, Sunstone dragons are very aggressive. Fights for territory are common amongst both male and female Sunstones. They live only in warm, arid climates, where they blend into the dry grass. They are often seen digging for gems, which they collect as well as eat. The more gems they consume, the larger the stones on their tails grow. The stones on their tails are used to absorb sunlight, and the larger the stone the more social status the dragon has. Their social structure is like that of a lion pride, with a dominate male or two and several females with their young.
Techno Dragons
Dragons with the ability to take electronic and mechnical things and reshape or combine them into different and sometimes more advanced machines. They are native in the continent of Illuvmea and are omnivores.
Teleport Dragons
Thermo Dragons
Small 4-feet tall dragons with an ability to change the temperature of the atmosphere around them; making the air either hot or cold. Thermo Dragons are mostly native to Weshaya and Tirkim, the two countries of Dominina, but a few of them have been imported to Northeast Rudvich with some managing to escape into the wild to breed. They are carnivorous creatures that eat animals smaller than their size.
*White Dragons*
The best healers of all dragon breeds that can heal any injuries, any medical conditions, and cure any diseases and illness no matter how bad they are, such as HIVs and scoliosis. The only thing they can't do is resurrect the dead. The white dragons' extraordinary abilities have made them one of the most prized slaves in the hands of humans for medical purposes. They are herbivorous by nature and refuse to eat any meat at all. Because of their pacifist nature, white dragons lack the ability to fight or harm living creatures. They are uncommon dragons who are found in the eastern regions of Rudvich.
More dragon breeds will be put in later.
